Wheely Good Walks

Eco dog walks and pet visits in York

Hi, I’m Clea đź‘‹

I guarantee you ‘zero carbon pawprints’ because I travel by bike instead of driving between my dog walking and pet visiting appointments.

Being an environmentally-friendly and sustainable business is really important to me, and it also means I’m not contributing to York’s traffic problem — especially around Fulford Road. I live in the area, and it’s become increasingly obvious that there’s a need for somebody local who can get around easily and help people out with their dogs, cats and other pets.

On my bike I can scoot around any congestion, avoid traffic hold-ups, and get to your animals regardless of whether there’s an event on, it’s a race day, or it’s plain old rush hour.

I know this corner of York like the back of my hand, as I walk it every day with my own dogs. I’ll walk your pups in areas that are familiar to them, and I know all the best routes and spots for sniffs, stimulation, and play. From the wide open spaces, to the hidden woods and the quiet back streets, I tailor my walks around your dog(s) and their individual needs. I don’t do group walks, I don’t combine bookings, and I don’t transport your dogs in a van or on my bike. So I’m the ideal service for dogs who don’t like travel or are nervous around other dogs, or those who would just benefit from a little more one-to-one time on their walks.

I’ve lived with animals all my life, and I’ve been rescuing cats and dogs for most of the last two decades. I’m experienced with dogs big and small. So you can trust me with your new rescue, your old boy, your fear-aggressive or fearful pup, your untrained, bouncy puppy, or your boundary-pushing adolescent. Whoever and whatever your hound, I’ll take things at their pace and treat them with kindness and patience.

My books are open for anyone living around Fulford, Fishergate, Heslington, within and around the City Walls, South Bank and Bishophill. If you’re unsure if I can get to you, just give me a call! I’d love to see how I can help.

Because I’m out and about on my bike, I also offer Wheely Good Visits. I can check in on your cats, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, reptiles, goldfish or tarantulas — whether you’re at work or on holiday. As well as tending to their basic needs and keeping them company, I can confidently administer cuddles or medication. (I’ve rescued lots of poorly oldies, so I’m not easily fazed!) And just as with my dog walks, I’ll send you a full update when I leave so that you can relax and enjoy your day.

Hopefully that’s enough about me and why I do what I do. If you see me when I’m out and about, please stop and say hi. Because the next best thing to walking your dogs and looking after your pets is talking about them!

Clea sent daily updates with the cutest photos. When we came back they looked at us as if to say “Oh, you again”. They adore Clea.
